Practice with a purpose

Know your story.
Practice the follow-up.

An answer can sound clear in your head and fall apart at “What did you do?” Prepare one real example, say it out loud, and work on the part that needs another attempt.

atula is an AI growth companion in iMessage and live Zoom sessions. Interview practice is one use alongside learning skills, building everyday habits, and working on personal projects.

01 / Bring one role and one real story

Choose a job description and a question you find difficult. Write three bullets: the problem, your own decision, and what changed. Leave out confidential employer information and other people’s personal details.

For a useful starting request, try:

“I’m preparing for a product interview. Help me practice explaining a project where I disagreed with a stakeholder. Ask one question at a time, then challenge anything unclear about my own contribution.”

This is a suggested request, not a transcript or a promise of a particular result.

02 / Rehearse, then face a follow-up

Use iMessage to explain the goal and prepare. A live Zoom session provides space to speak, discuss, and practice. Start with one behavioral answer before trying a full interview.

A practice round you can use now

  1. Answer: “Tell me about a time you changed your approach after feedback.”
  2. Follow up: “Which decision was yours, and what alternatives did you consider?”
  3. Check the evidence: “How do you know the change helped?”
  4. Repeat the answer with one specific improvement.

Keep the goal concrete: make your contribution understandable. A polished script that you cannot explain under a follow-up is a signal to revisit the example.

03 / Take one improvement into the next attempt

Write down the exact point that was unclear, the change you want to make, and the question you will try next. Bring that note back to iMessage to continue working on your goal.

For example: “I explained the team’s work but skipped my decision. Next time I’ll name the trade-off I owned before describing the result.” You can use the same reflection after practicing alone or with another person.

AI feedback can miss context or misinterpret an answer. Check it against your experience and the role. Do not invent metrics or treat an AI assessment as a hiring prediction.

If your answer keeps getting longer, use the concise interview answer exercise to identify the detail to keep and the detail to save for a follow-up.

Choose the kind of practice you need

Before applying, you can complete these exercises without an account. If you receive access to atula, bring your target role and one draft answer to the conversation, and ask to practice one follow-up.

What to expect from early access

  • The current conversation experience uses iMessage. Live practice uses Zoom.
  • Joining the waitlist is an application, not a guarantee of immediate access. Follow the result and activation instructions shown after signup.
  • Use your own examples. Do not share confidential documents just to make a practice session more detailed.
  • This page describes interview preparation. It does not promise an offer, an employer-endorsed score, or assistance during an actual interview.

Questions before you practice

Can I use the guide without signing up?

Yes. The behavioral interview guide includes a complete timed exercise, an example, and a worksheet.

Will I get an accurate prediction of whether I will pass?

No. Practice feedback cannot predict a hiring decision. Use it to identify clearer explanations and further practice, then seek human feedback where possible.

Is atula only for job interviews?

No. atula supports career goals, learning skills, non-medical everyday habits, and personal projects. See the demo for a broader introduction.

Prepare a specific answer

Start with behavioral interview questions and a practice drill, or work through how to explain a career change in an interview. Both exercises are available without signing up.

Preparing your opening? Try “Tell me about yourself” examples and speaking practice.

Choose a focused exercise before you practice

Start with a phone screen, a conflict example, or a failure answer. For an imminent interview, the preparation checklist works without waiting for early access.
