atula + Zoom: Integration Guide
atula is an AI learning companion that runs your scheduled 1-on-1 tutoring sessions over Zoom. When you connect Zoom, atula creates the Zoom meeting for each session on your behalf, so you just join and learn. This guide explains how to add, use, and remove the integration.
New to atula?
The Zoom integration is available to atula users. If you don't have atula yet, join the waitlist on our homepage.
What the integration does
atula requests two Zoom permissions and nothing more:
- meeting:write:meeting — create and manage the Zoom meeting for your scheduled session.
- user:read:user — read your basic Zoom profile (id, name, email) to associate the meeting with your account.
Adding the app
- In your atula conversation, ask atula to connect Zoom (or tap the connect link atula sends you).
- You are redirected to Zoom's authorization screen, which lists the permissions above.
- Select Allow to grant access. Zoom returns you to atula, which confirms that your Zoom account is connected.
The connection uses standard OAuth 2.0. atula stores your Zoom tokens encrypted and never sees your Zoom password.
Using the app
- Schedule a session with atula as usual.
- At session time, atula creates a Zoom meeting under your account and shares the join link with you.
- Join the meeting from the link — your atula session runs there. No manual Zoom setup is required.
Removing the app
You can disconnect atula from Zoom at any time:
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click Manage → Added Apps (or search for atula).
- Find atula and click Remove.
When you remove the app, Zoom notifies atula and we automatically delete the Zoom access and refresh tokens we stored for you. See our Privacy Policy for details on how data is handled.
